How is this calculated?
What does "cash unlocked faster" mean?+
We estimate the portion of your outstanding invoice value that would be collected sooner if your average payment delay dropped to the target DSO for your stated terms. Formula: invoices × average value × (days gained ÷ current days).
How is the ROI multiple calculated?+
We divide the estimated cash unlocked faster by the Relanco Solo plan price ($29/mo CAD). This shows how many dollars you could recover for every dollar spent. For example, a 12× result means recovering $12 in cash flow for every $1 of plan cost.
What is DSO and why does the target change?+
DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) measures how long it takes to collect after an invoice is issued. The target adjusts based on your stated payment terms — Net 30 contractors aim for ~38 days, Net 60 contractors for ~68 days. The Atradius 2024 benchmark is roughly 7 days past stated terms when automated reminders are in place.
Does this apply equally to everyone?+
No — this calculator uses broad assumptions. Businesses with longer payment terms, disputed invoices, or clients who pay regardless of reminders may see lower improvement. The time saved figure depends on the per-follow-up time you select. Think of these as directional estimates, not guarantees.
Why does late-fee prevention matter if I don't actually charge late fees?+
Most contractors hate billing late fees but feel forced to when invoices drag. Faster payment removes the trigger entirely — you keep the relationship clean and never have to send the awkward late-fee invoice in the first place.
Does this estimate hold for shorter terms like Due on receipt or Net 15?+
Treat it as a ceiling. With shorter terms, some of the "days gained" wouldn't have technically accrued late fees in the first place, so the late-fee prevented figure may be slightly high. The cash-unlocked figure stays directionally accurate.
Target DSO is derived from your stated payment terms (Atradius 2024 benchmark). Results vary by industry and volume.
